’The Narrow’ is painting that reflects the period of my life when I was travelling to escape the anxiety rooted in childhood trauma I wasn’t ready to face. Phuket’s towering cliffs and crystal water offered me moments or relief – beautiful, immersive distractions that made my thoughts quiet for a while. But the peace was always temporary the blurred painting technique mirrors that emotional fog, the way everything felt soft and distant when I was running from myself. I named it the narrow because, despite standing in a vast and open landscape, my mind was still confined by unhealed experiences. This work captures that contrast :the world was wide but I wasn’t yet.
