“I want my art to bring you joy.
Joy in tiny doses helps counterbalance pain, fear, anxiety, and trauma.
In a world that can be overwhelming, joy in art acts like a reset button for the soul." Magnifiqué

Magnifiqué (born 1997) is an East African artist based in London.
She travelled through many countries in East Africa as a child, which gave her a layered sense of identity. When she moved to England as a teenager, not long after, she lost her brother to cancer. That grief—combined with the culture shock and language barrier—made it hard to find connection or belonging. It was then that she developed her interest in art. She began painting every day, because art became a way to process pain—and through it, she was able to find joy.

Later, she studied physiotherapy at university and worked in Disability Social Justice, where she began to understand how people experience trauma caused by war, migration, family separation, all forms of discrimination, and poor health. It was during that time that she began to see art not just as a personal healing tool, but her mission became to make art that radiates love, peace, and joy.

Living both in Africa, England and travelling Internationally for work her style has been shaped by diverse influences globally. She is inspired by artists like Tinga Tinga, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama—creators who create art that brings people joy. Her main medium is oil, but she often incorporates mixed media to create layered, tactile pieces.

For the past 12 years, Magnifiqué has worked on commission only, with collectors including music artists such as Rema and Asake. Now, she is opening her work to a wider audience—to bring that same sense of Joy to people globally.
